CHARACTER SILHOUETTES

The Concept Artist started work on the character art first. The first stage of this process was creating a character mood board, this would be useful for inspiration and ideas when creating silhouettes and adding details.

CHARACTER MOOD BOARD.
The Concept artist found images of period accurate figures who also describe the type of character we want as well as images of other well know characters who are similar such as the original Penguin. At this stage the main features that had been discussed and we knew we wated to include were as such.

Our Character Needs:
*A "Portley" Frame.
*Some Kind of Extravagant Facial Hair.
*To be Well Dressed.
*Conform to the Victorian Theme.

This page helps the Concept artist keep to these specific character needs. Now that character artist used this board and some imagination to create some rough silhouettes to throw some ideas out for the group to see.

At this stage the silhouettes were shown to the group and the final silhouette was chosen to work on to see what could be created from this. The concept artist came up with these two slightly worked up versions.

ROUGH SILHOUETTE WORK UPS.

These Silhouettes show slight changes and made us realise some details we wanted included in our character. We liked the small legs under the large belly, as well as the pony tail and large ruffs on the sleeves, also the cane was discussed due to the possibilities of using this for an idle animation in game. these silhouettes helped us all progress in our ideas of what we wanted our character to be.
