UI CONCEPTS

Our GUI Artist (Chris) has created some concept pages for the UI we could use in our game, The UI is very important to almost any game and ours is no exception, the UI in our game will be majorly focused on due to our game being timer based and as such we need to communicate this to the player and give a sense of urgency. We also need our menu screens and in game UI to reflect the theme and mood of the game, otherwise the game will not flow and may fail to create a believable virtual world for the player to become engrossed in.

Using the general mood board for material ideas and a colour palette was very important in creating these designs and helped create a range of more designs after this page.

After this stage we decided as a group that we definitely wanted to use some kind of image of a candle to represent our time limit, this links in with the game as our idea is that the only light source the player possesses is a handheld candle. We also knew we wanted the red, gold and brown combination to continue through our game into the UI. Finally we decided that if we had time we would also like to include a character avatar with animations if we had time to do so.
