ENVIRONMENT SILHOUETTES

Our concept artist decided to use a different approach when it came to concept art for the environment, instead of creating a worked up final image that the environment artist would have to model in full mood boards would be created for each room and the using these and artistic creativity half shaded silhouettes would be created of props and items that should exist in each room. These silhouette sheets are to be used in conjunction with the required mood board, this gives the environment artist a good outline to work from but also hands the option of some creativity when modelling. 

The Concept Artist started off with creating two mod boards for the atrium as it is our largest navigable room in game.

From these pages the concept artist decided what was needed in the atrium, important features would be Kiosks, Pillars, Lighting, Mirrors etc.

We as a group decided we like this way of working as it is unique and also lends creativity to more members that the Concept and GUI Artists. The mood boards are also useful later on when texturing for colour schemes and materials etc.
